Anika Noni has a career as an American performer and singer. She is best known for her role as Tiana Disney's first African-American princess In The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robertson on Dreamgirls that won the Academy Award. Anika Noni (born June 6th in 1972) is a singer and American actress. The most famous role she has played is that of Tiana the Disney's first African American princess, in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. The same year, she was recognized for her role on the screen in Dreamgirls (2006) in which she earned the Academy Award for Best Picture. On the Starz show Power she played the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. She has also been recognized for her theatre performances, which include her lead roles as Caroline or Change Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway where she received the Tony Award was won for Best Actress in musical.
